The Opening Session begins at 8:30 a.m. Although you will not see registration for the Opening Session in Sched, attendance is required. Opening Sessions will be held at these locations:
Aiken High School: Grades PK to 2nd - Gymnasium (park in the football parking lot)
Aiken High School: Grades 3rd to 5th - Cafeteria (park in the main parking lots)
Losing a student's engagement and/or respect can be detrimental to the student, the teacher, and the classroom environment. At the end of this session, participants will walk away with valuable insight into 10 ways that teachers (often without even knowing it) lose students. Participants will take away tools and ideas to assist them in building rapport, exercising empathy, and strengthening classroom management skills.
